Today a high percentage of the shops on the Sandside cater solely for the tourist trade, selling seaside souvenirs, such as pink rock, postcards and shells.

Sandside is popular destination for visitors to Scarborough, with its mix of history, culture, and shopping.

The area has retained much of its original character, with narrow lanes and historic buildings, giving visitors a glimpse into the town's rich past.
